Generation 5.0

Grundei belt scissor lifts are very rigid due to the design with the knee lever in the extended position. The knee lever acts as a support between the scissor blades. Due to the knee lever, the belt forces are very low in the extended position.

In our factory test, the scissor lift was raised without load, then loaded with one ton. The upper frame did not deflect for more than 2 mm.
Also, due to the purely mechanical system, the lift will not creep down over time like a hydraulic lift.
This graph shows the forces in the belt for a stroke of 3 meters.
The knee lever takes the forces out of the system.

Consequently we achieve a very high level of safety in the belt.
We can now offer scissor lifts with a performance level „D“ (PLD).
For a PLD scissor lift, a redundant drive system is required plus a belt safety factor of at least 10.
The Grundei knee lever produces a belt safety factor of more than 25 in the upper position.

The further development of the Grundei belt lift has resultet in a special curve geometry of the drive-roller running tracks.
This curve produces a constant, even speed over the whole lifting stroke. This results in an even motor performance over the whole stroke.
The installed motor capacity is strongly reduced, as the motors work at their optimal point. A capacity reduction of up to 40% is achievable .

Advantages of the new system 5.0
· Constant speed
· Check of lifting position by motor encoder possible
· Constant utilization of the frequency
converter => no ‚peaks‘
· Less motor capacity, ..smaller gear motors
required
· Smaller motors means less installation space
required, smaller motors may be installed
under the lift, not next to the lift
· Performance level „D“ can be achieved
· No more safety cylinders required, no
hydraulic oil in the safety system
· Stable load transfer in the upper positioning,
no separate and cost-intensive locking system
required
